Silent Conversations
You tempt with your proposition,
Knowing it's a seductress's web
You'd have me weave,
When you taunt to tease.
The possibilities tangle my tongue,
And I cannot speak,
Spinning from words withheld
That would cast a plot to ensnare,
If uttered from conniving lips.
Inwardly replying to your what-ifs,
Answers dancing in imagination,
Never touching skin,
Lost in silent conversations
That must never begin.
