Imminence

A scene, a nightmare,

Flashing by me like a dream,

I lay awake, it passing before my eyes,

No story line,

Only symbolism to define.

Dark night, moonlight

Reflecting off waves,

Me, in an eerie purple haze,

Frailly treading rough sea.

A ship sailing distant,

Would it spot me,

Rescue me from vulnerability,

Pure white light beaconing the way?

Giant swells, engulfing ocean,

Drowning me in realization.

Imminence in motion,

Sucking me under to meet some fate.

Too late, an ending near,

No hope, only fear.

I must let go of something dear,

But what is it I'm holding?

Then I awoke next to YOU.
